LINCOLN, NE – OCTOBER 07: A cheerleader for the Wisconsin Badgers celebrates a score against the Nebraska Cornhuskers at Memorial Stadium on October 7, 2017 in Lincoln, Nebraska. (Photo by Steven Branscombe/Getty Images)It appears that ABC is experimenting with a new camera angle for tonight’s Ohio State-Wisconsin game in primetime.Judging at home, it appeared to be slightly more diagonal at times while also a little bit more zoomed in. It is definitely different from the norm.Nick Bosa with a huge sack on 3rd down for Ohio State. pic.twitter.com/20FvCGeWlc— Eleven Warriors (@11W) October 16, 2016The early reviews for it are not good. People on Twitter have been crushing the new look in the early part of the game.Hey @ABCNetwork change the camera angle back to normal for the #OSUvsWIS game— Austin Brewer (@A_Brewcrew) October 16, [email protected] wtf is this camera angle? This is not how I want to be watching Saturday night football. pic.twitter.com/p5CgSg3Z7P— Stephen Robinson (@ReveStobinson) October 16, 2016Is it just me or is the camera angle in the Ohio State vs. Wisconsin game kind of strange?? Low maybe? pic.twitter.com/Fn4Okt6Yd5— Doug Samuels (@CoachSamz) October 16, [email protected] your camera angle for the Wisconsin/Ohio St. game is horrible.— Colonel T Royale ✝️?? (@Kydem22) October 16, 2016Can we lose the Grant Theft Auto experimental camera angle bullshit— Ramzy Nasrallah (@ramzy) October 16, 2016The camera angle ABC’s using for Ohio State-Wisconsin is the lowest, closest I’ve ever seen in a football game.— Zach Barnett (@zach_barnett) October 16, [email protected] change your camera angle. It’s god awful. #OSUvsWIS— Daddy (@b_crist00) October 16, 2016FIX THE CAMERA ANGLE @ABC #OSUvsWIS— Josh Hasting (@MakeHast) October 16, 2016If we lose I’m blaming the camera angle— Keith M. Hellebrand (@KHellebrand) October 16, 2016The main TV camera angle at Camp Randall is AWFUL.— Shea Carr (@Shea_Carr) October 16, 2016Anybody else think this OSU-Wisconsin camera angle is weird?— Yahoo Sports College Football (@YahooSportsCFB) October 16, 2016Why they got this booty ass view for the Buckeyes camera angle????— Kaleb Clemens (@KalebClemens) October 16, 2016Wut is this camera angle— Jakob with a K (@JakobHussey23) October 16, 2016Trust us, there are many, many more where those came from. It isn’t uncommon for fans at home to let their voices be heard if they don’t like a certain aspect of the broadcast. Anyone else remember the glare at the Final Four in Houston back in April?Anyway, looking past the camera angle and at actual on-field action, Wisconsin fans have to be encouraged by their team’s start. The Badgers have stymied Ohio State’s explosive offense early and lead 10-0 on a 46-yard field goal by replacement kicker Andrew Endicott and an Alex Hornibrook TD pass. The Buckeyes have won the last four meetings between the schools, dating back to 2011. Included in that quartet of victories was a 59-0 demolition job at the 2014 Big Ten Championship Game. However, Wisconsin has knocked off an undefeated Ohio State team at Camp Randall in 2003 and 2010. Maybe history will repeat itself tonight. If it does, Badger fans will enjoy watching it from any angle.
