Nominations for the Bonjour! Awards for Excellence in French-language Services open today, Sept. 22. The awards recognize outstanding contributions by Nova Scotia government employees to develop and deliver programs and services in French. “The Bonjour! Awards are an excellent way to promote the work of people in government who are making sure the Acadian and francophone community can access services in French,” said Acadian Affairs Minister Michel Samson. “It takes extra dedication to develop and maintain French-language services in Nova Scotia, and the work often goes unrecognized.” Government employees and members of the public can submit nominations to Acadian Affairs in three categories: Service Delivery to the Public Leadership Program Development Last year, recipients were recognized for delivering high-quality services in French at the Nova Scotia Archives, developing a bilingual birth registration kiosk, and for co-ordinating the publication of French content on the Department of Justice website. Nominations will be evaluated by a selection committee with representatives from the Acadian and francophone community, as well as the provincial and federal public service.
