Tottenham could welcome back key man for Southampton clash

first_imgMousa Dembele could return for Tottenham’s clash with Southampton on Saturday. The Belgian midfielder has missed Spurs’ last two games with a foot injury but manager Mauricio Pochettino confirmed on Friday that he’s line to face the Saints.Pochettino will, however, be without Ryan Mason and Alex Pritchard, who both have ankle injuries, while Clinton Njie is expected to be out for more than a month with a knee problem.“Dembele is close, we need to assess him now in training,” said Pochettino.“Clinton picked up a ligament injury in his knee and maybe we will miss him for a while. Mason and Pritchard are still out.”Pochettino was given a mixed reception last season at Southampton, after leading the club to an eighth-place finish in 2014 before leaving to take over at Spurs.“It wasn’t the whole stadium (cheering me) – only a few people,” Pochettino said.“I feel it’s not an issue because for me it was a big move coming from Spain and it is not easy to explain why we split our way but I feel very good things from Southampton.“I have a lot of people that love me and people I love there. It will always be an important club in my career.” 1 Mousa Dembele last_img
